Becomes flexible when damp, allowing it to be shaped or blocked
Dries hardened to shaped structured forms
Lightweight while maintaining structural integrity
The open weave allows the material to hold shape without adding weight to forms.

Traditionally used in millinery to block. Equally effective in theatrical or costume sculptural designs and decorative elements.
