Current Opportunity: Showroom Manager

Lead a beautiful, community‑minded showroom experience.

About the role
We’re House of Adorn, a creative retail brand loved by makers, milliners, and costume designers. We’re looking for a part‑time Showroom Manager to lead the front-of-house operations, uplift customer in‑store experience, and keep the showroom organised and inspiring.

Purpose

Own the in‑store experience and daily rhythms so our team can deliver seamless service across showroom and online.

What you'll do

  • Be the on‑site duty manager on your shifts; set the tone, solve issues, and coach casuals.
  • Deliver warm, personalised service; discover needs and recommend products, special requests and returns.
  • Oversee opening/closing, cash handling, POS reconciliation, and end‑of‑day readiness.
  • Coordinate click‑and‑collect and showroom pickups; partner smoothly with warehouse/online orders.
  • Overseeing staff schedules, timesheets, task delegation, and ensuring emails are actioned.
  • Managing stock and inventory: identifying restock needs, assisting with local and international purchasing, and processing deliveries/invoices.
  • Capture and share weekly insights: customer themes, slow/fast movers, out‑of‑stock needs, display wins.
  • Maintain visual merchandising: weekly refreshes and seasonal campaigns (e.g. Spring Racing, festive).
  • Keep the space beautiful: clean, well‑labelled, and easy to navigate for customers and team.
  • Support workshops and small in‑store events — set‑up/pack‑down and simple product tables.

What you'll bring

  • 2–3+ years of retail floor leadership (boutique/creative environment preferred).
  • A friendly, confident service style — you read the room and make people feel welcome.
  • Visual merchandising skills with a practical, commercial lens.
  • Comfort with Shopify POS, Microsoft Office, and basic spreadsheets.
  • Operational discipline: cash handling, reconciliations, opening/closing checklists.
  • Strong communication and coaching: you teach others clearly in a few steps.
  • Curiosity for materials; fabrics, trims, millinery/craft (interest is a plus, not a must).

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting workshops/events in a retail setting.
  • Social media content‑friendly: comfortable capturing quick in‑store moments for the team to use on socials.

Our values

We’re a creative, community‑minded brand. We value warmth, craftsmanship, curiosity, and doing the little things beautifully. From a tidy display to thoughtful advice that helps a customer’s project come to life.

Perks

  • A kind, collaborative team that cares about creativity and community.
  • Staff discounts on products you’ll love working with.
  • Opportunities to grow into broader retail operations or full showroom management over time.
