Nappa Full Grain leather is a soft sheepskin leather dyed in an array of different colours.
How it behaves
- The top side of the leather has been retained (full grain) providing strength and a smooth finish
- The underside has a natural suede finish with varying textures
- Strong & durable with a soft finish
Ideal for
Blocking and shaping due to the ability to stretch the leather
Traditionally used in millinery, but equally suitable for garment/apparel and upholstery
Not ideal for
Projects where the underside of the leather is visible & needs a consistent finish or projects needing large pieces

Please note the following before ordering:
1. Colour
Colours may vary between dye batches, including white. Please purchase a sample before ordering if you would like to check the current colour.
2. Natural Imperfections
Our real leather is a natural product and may come with natural imperfections including marks, holes and varying textures. While we try our best to hand-select items, it is difficult to predict customer preferences so while the same piece is acceptable by one customer (because they intend on cutting it up to make trims), it is not for another (because they require a larger surface area and there is a hole present).
3. Shape of leather
Due to the natural irregularity of the shape of the skin, this product is sold by area only (in square feet) and are not cut or supplied in rectangular sections (like you would expect for fabric materials), therefore you will be sent the skin in its natural irregular shape. Measurements are often taken at the tannery using specialised machines that measure the whole area of the skin including fringe areas (not just actual squares). Depending on the size purchased and availability, you may receive half skins. If you purchase two or more quantities, you may receive full skins with the total area combined.
4. Measurements
Please consider the dimensions of this product very carefully. One square foot (sq. ft.) in area is measured as 1 foot x 1 foot (30cm x 30cm). For example, a skin size of 4sq. ft. does NOT correspond to the dimensions 4 feet x 4 feet (this would result in an area of 16sq. ft., i.e.: 4 x 4). Hence a skin with an area of 4sq. ft. would have the corresponding dimensions of approximately 2 feet x 2 feet, or 1.5 feet x 2.67, which when multiplied, results in 4 square feet. 5. Shipping
To ship the leather we carefully fold the skins, should you require the leather to be rolled, or if you have any particular request please let our staff know when ordering and we will do our best to meet your requirements. Additional postage charges may apply. Thank you for your understanding.
